Paul Wins League

TPS 10 saw Paul take the 2008 title with 1 game to spare. His early season dominance saw him take a massive lead with an unprecedented 3 wins on the bounce and despite some poor results over the summer no one could catch him, the 2005 Masters Champion must still be favourite to take this years title and with 125 points at the top of the All Time Leader board he’ll be the player to beat in 2009.

2008 RULES UPDATE

New Blind Structure

For the 2008 season the blinds will now go up in 40 minute intervals.

New Players

TPS Tournaments are private home games and are not open to the public. However, existing players can invite their mates along and we're always happy to make new friends and take their money from them (heh heh). If you'd like to invite someone along, as a matter of courtesy could you please check with the host first to make sure it's OK with them and please remember that on their first night they are your responsibility- so no psychopathic kleptomaniacs please!

Behaviour

So far, in the almost 4 years we've been holding TPS games there has been little in the way of unruly behaviour- and we'd like to keep in that way. Most of us like a drink whilst we play (in fact some of us love a drink whilst we play), but please try not to turn up steaming - what's the rush? You can just get hammered with the rest of us (except H), and it goes without saying that nobody likes a bad loser, so if your pocket Aces gets beat by a 6 high straight, take it like a man, shake hands and say 'nice hand sir'. Cheating, violence or threats of violence will absolutely not be tolerated!

VENUES WANTED

With the spiritual home of the TPS- Paul's house- now in the hands of the Polish we're one TPS Venue down, so if you feel your gaff is up to hosting an event please let us know.

THE MAIN EVENT

The first Saturday of every month, from January 2008 we will hold a TPS tournament at one of our houses. It will be the same set up as before with the top 5 getting paid (depending on numbers of course). £15 from the £20 buy-in will go towards the main event winners. There no minimum players for it to be classed as a TPS event. Even if 2 people only turn up, the winner will still get a Masters place and league points.

THE LEAGUE

The top 6 players from the main event get points as before, but now everyone who buys-in will get 1 League Point (Note: TPS `08 Participation Points do not count towards the All Time Leader Board). The league season starts in January and finishes after the November event. £2 from the £20 buy-in each month will go towards awarding the league champion and also runner up a cash prize worthy of turning up for.

THE MASTERS

All winners of the main event get a seat in 'The Masters' to be held in December. This is the World Cup of Poker were the top of the pops battle it out for the cash that's mounted up throughout the season. This is a free tournament for winners only with potentially big money to be won. £3 of the £20 main event monthly buy-in will go towards this grand occasion. With the season having 11 main events, The Masters could be an 11 handed affair, but is unlikely as some tend to win the main event more than once.
